Our aging workhorse of a snowmobile!

Bad news first… our aging Skandic snowmobile is showing it’s age and is going in for some very expensive repairs. It will probably be out of commission for at least 2 weeks and we don’t have a back-up. With 14,000 km on the odometer it is time for us to start looking for a new one which we would expect to cost expect to cost around $20,000. Definitely more than we have in our bank account. If anyone has any information on grants that might be available for this let us know! And if you’d like to make a donation to the “New Snowmobile Fund” just use the button on the website. We’ll love you forever!

The Good News is the snow is great! Moose Island, the Meadows, Jola’s Loop, and Coronado Road have all been trackset and all of the other trails other than the Summit Trail, Rabbit’s Ear and the Horselogger’s Trail have all been packed with the roller. The Gourmet Ski is coming up on February 18th which will add to our Snowmobile Fund. So the skiing will remain great even with equipment failures. Happy skiing!
